Pastoral Care in the Macarthur Health System – Update.
The Macarthur Health System Pastoral Care Service is going well and we thank God for His blessing. The Pastoral Care Team which is voluntary comprises of more than 50 Trained Pastoral Carers.
This allows for visitation of Hospital Patients on regular and mostly on a daily basis. The Pastoral Carers are drawn from many areas of the Community covering many Denominations and Religious groups so that all members of the community can be cared for. The Pastoral Care Service shares with Hospital patients alone with their families and friends when called upon along with Hospital Staff when required.
Are you interested in becoming a Pastoral Carer?
The Pastoral Care Ministry is an important and significant in the Health System. There are many< stories of patients who have been blessed and helped by the visit of a Pastoral Carer in Hospital.
If you are interested in becoming a pastoral carer and joining the Team, then the next CPE Training Course will be held in November 2011. This is the first step in qualifying as a Pastoral Carer. Details as follows;
The course is a 40 hour CPE Course. (Note, CPE stands for Clinical Pastoral Education).
CPE 40 hour course.
When: each Friday 8.45am to 4.00pm On the 4th 11th 18th 25th November and 2nd December 2011
Where: Campbelltown Hospital Training Centre (final location to be advised).
Cost: Approx $110

Then there is Further CPE Training available;
ALSO current Pastoral Carers may be interested in further CPE Training.
If so you may consider an upcoming 400 hour CPE Training which will be starting in July 2012. The cost is approx $1000 per participant.
The Trainer will be Rev Colin Berriman who is well known in this field and has conducted many CPE Courses. This will be good. More information - Contact Marian Martin see above.
